Richard Erwin Rood (December 7, 1958 – April 20, 1999), cunoscut mai bine sub numele sau de ring "Ravishing" Rick Rude este un fost wrestler american profesionist care a luptat in numeroase federatii cele mai importante fiiind World Championship Wrestling( WCW), Extreme Championship Wrestling( ECW),World Wrestling Entertaining(WWE).Alaturi de Hulk Hogan,Ultimate Warrior,Jake Roberts,Randy Savage au dus wrestlingul pe noi culmi si la noi niveluri.Este wrestlerul care reprezinta cu succes sfarsitul anilor 80' si inceputul anilor 90' in wrestling.Debutul sau in WWE a survenit in anul 1987 avandu-l ca manager pe Jimmy Hart.De-a lungul timpului in WWE a avut feuduri memorabile cu Jake The Snake Roberts(celebrul conflict care o includea pe sotia lui Jake),Ultimate Warrior(incheiat printr-un meci steal cage la Summerslam 1990) ,Roddy Piper( ramas celebru pentru segmentul sau din timpul Talk Showlui cu Brother Love) si Big Bossman(acesta fiind ultimul sau feud in WWE ,plecarea lui survenind dupa o suspendare datorata unor vorbe jignitoare aduse la adresa mamei ,,politistului'').
In acest timp,a reusit sa capteze centura Intercontinentala.
In anul 1991 si-a facut debutul in WCW cu un nou gimmick,e data aceasta ramas cunoscut pt replica,,Cut my music!''.
A avut feuduri importante cu Steve Austin,Ric Flair si Lary Zbyszko(fost campion NWA).In acest timp a capturat Centura Statelor Unite,WCW International World Heavyweight Championship si NWA World Tag Team Championship (Mid-Atlantic version).
In 1997 a redebutat in WWE ,de data aceasta ca managerul a celebrului stable DX(foramt atunci de catre HBK,HHH si Chyna).De data aceasta nu a stat decat cateva luni in federatie.
In noiembrie 1997 redebuteaza in WCW de data aceasta fuzionand cu celebrul grup New World Order(NWO).
In aprilie 1999,la varsta de 40 ani,Rick Rude moare dupa un infact,in somn,ca urmare a steroizilor.
El va ramane mereu in sufletul fanilor.De aceea a fost considerat unul dintre cei mai buni heeli din istoria wrestlingului combinand cu succes charisma,abilitatile in ring,gimmickul,inteligenta si abilitatile la microfon.

Parca WWF a fost redenumit in WWE ,dupa ce Vince a pierdut procesul.Toate materialele din WCW,WWF si ECW sunt sub proprietatea WWE-ului.In acest caz spunem ca Rick Rude a fost wrestler in WWE.
